Responsibilities

Reviews master production schedule, customer backlog status and production levels, and confers with upper management, marketing, engineering, finance, and other manufacturing staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
Manages supply chain by approving suppliers, tracking performance, and negotiating and approving any agreements with suppliers
Keeps close coordination and communication with the production, purchasing, materials, engineering, marketing, and financial departments to attain objectives on Company goals
Prepares production schedules and ensures material availability
Confers with production personnel to resolve problems affecting production schedules, including the purchase of parts and/or planning/scheduling issues; monitors work procedures and schedules, and expedites workflow
Develops and maintains an effective production control, purchasing, materials, and traffic organization through selection, training, and motivation of all personnel in departmental areas. Directs subordinates in the management of their assigned responsibilities, to ensure that they meet objectives and attain satisfactory operation and performance
Responsible for the creation and continuous update of the master schedule that satisfies customer demand, maintains stability in terms of material and capacity requirements and minimizes Raw, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels
Continuously monitors the impact of 'Customer Delivery Performance' and 'Final Assembly On-time Performance' on inventory levels and schedule attainment, and implements any necessary changes to the schedule required to balance customer requirements and plant efficiencies
Act as a focal point between Marketing/Sales, Manufacturing, and Materials Management to coordinate the Customer Orders, Internal Work Orders and '8020' inventory levels to balance major business objective with customer satisfaction
Utilize MAPICS software to develop and distribute reports to identify issues and problems that could result in missed sales opportunities, unachievable on-time internal work order completion, and inventory discrepancies
Assess the impact to capacity, inventory levels, purchase order activity and problem inventory levels that result from any proposed major change to the master schedule, utilizing the Infor / MAPICS MRP tool
May assist in process development and the implementation of production procedures to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce manufacturing systems costs. Measures progress by established standards of performance
Directs Mechanical operations personnel to ensure processes, procedures, and methods per quality standards are met and maintained. Maintains communication channels and supports morale within the plant operations. Administers all policies and procedures within Company guidelines, consistently within all departments
Participates in the monthly sales and operation planning activity, identifies potential problems that effect a stable MPS, addresses firm lead time polices and presents manufacturing and customer performance reports. Prepares and monitors shipping/dollar forecast
Complies with and conducts business in accordance with the letter, spirit, and intent of all relevant laws and regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions; wherefore, refrains from any illegal, dishonest, unethical conduct. Maintains communications with all employees, vendors, customers and others in a cooperative and professional manner, while treating them in with dignity, respect and courtesy
Performs other related duties as required and may be assigned
Manages the activities of persons within the Materials group. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Provides superior leadership and support for the Materials group and the Company

Required

Must be an experienced, effective leader, a team player, with strong management skills
Must like data, and possess the ability to analyze and manage with the data
Must be a ‘hands-on' type individual, with the ability to interface on the shop floor, along with senior leadership and vendors---all equally well
Must be able to develop and align business plans with quantifiable requirements, placing the requirements into action
Must be able to mentor and develop a good team, to extract the best performance possible
Must exhibit the following attributes; 1) Proven leadership, 2) Strong oral and written communication, 3) Strong mentor, 4) Empowerment, and 5) Effective resource management
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field
Work Experience: Eight (8) or more years' related experience in materials, production planning, and/or training
Or, equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong problem solving and decision making skills
Excellent computer skills with a high level of proficiency in Excel and in MRP/ERP systems
Excellent oral and written communications skills
This position must meet 'US Person' Export Control Requirements as defined by 22 CFR 120.62 - 'US Person' means a person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). Or a successful foreign person candidate must be eligible to obtain any required export authorizations

Affiliation with APICS, CPIM, or CRM is highly desired
