Project Manager - Mechanical/Operations Team Lead

Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate installations of Plumbing/HVAC/Process Piping systems. These include but are not limited to hydronic systems, DX and VRF systems, ductwork, FRP installations, and large equipment rigging, plumbing systems, process piping systems, controls, test & balance
Manage scheduling & budgets for both fast-track and long-term projects
Issue technical purchase orders and subcontracts, ensuring compliance and accuracy
Coordination & Negotiate legal terms & conditions of between TAS and our customers
Submittals & Coordination dwgs, Close out documents and maintains thorough project documentation in all aspects of delivering a turnkey solution and equipment only sales to GCs and End Users
Lead daily operations, making strategic decisions to optimize workflow and project outcomes
Organize, coach, and mentor senior mechanical project managers, project managers, equipment managers, support engineers in house and at time manage installations through the TAS turnkey group
Facilitate communication and approvals with business leaders, general contractors, and end-user owners
Manage multiple turnkey industrial projects, commercial, educational and delivering large equipment package sales, primarily for general contractors and direct end-user owners
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality and safety
Develop and grow relationships with customers, contractors, project engineers, and manufacturers
Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related concerns, implementing corrective actions as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, and/or related field experienced preferred
Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will be considered
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical contracting, project management, or mechanical installation company operations
Proven track record leading teams in industrial projects, large equipment package sales, and mechanical systems installations (hydronic, DX, VRF, ductwork, FRP)
Experience issuing technical purchase orders, subcontracts, and managing project documentation
Prior experience coaching and managing senior project managers, superintendents, engineers, and administrative staff
Familiarity with scheduling (fast-track and long-term), controls integration, and construction phases from contract terms through closeout
Experience working with general contractors, subcontractors and direct end-user owners
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
Mechanical systems mastery: deep understanding of hydronic systems, DX and VRF, ductwork, FRP, and large equipment rigging
Project controls & documentation: proficient in issuing technical purchase orders, subcontracts, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
Industrial project experience: demonstrated success managing industrial projects and large equipment package sales
Team leadership: ability to organize, coach, and lead a diverse group including senior project managers, superintendents, engineers, and administrative staff
Mentorship: skilled at developing talent, providing feedback, and fostering a collaborative team environment
Decision-making: acts as the “quarterback” of the team, making strategic choices to optimize daily operations
Scheduling and planning: expertise in managing both fast-track and long-term project schedules
Process optimization: ability to streamline workflows and maximize efficiency across multiple projects
