Manager, Market Development - Engineered Wood Products
Canfor is a global leader in low-carbon forest products, and they are seeking a Manager for Market Development in the Engineered Wood Products industry. This role focuses on expanding market presence, building relationships with key stakeholders, and executing sales strategies to drive demand for Canfor’s Power Products®.
Responsibilities
Developing and executing sales plans to expand Canfor’s presence in commercial, industrial, and mass timber market segments
Building and nurturing relationships with developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and regional distribution partners
Driving pull-through demand for Power Products® through specification and education of industry stakeholders
Analyzing market trends, identifying new distribution opportunities, and supporting regional partners to grow market share and profitability
Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver superior product solutions and secure key accounts
Monitoring market pricing, competitive intel, and order trends to ensure strategic positioning and supply-demand balance
Participating in trade events, plant tours, and marketing initiatives to build brand recognition and support market entry
Setting objectives, implementing strategies, and developing action plans to improve long-term sales and margin growth
Providing quotes, managing distributor effectiveness, and supporting the development of marketing tools and support services
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the engineered wood products industry
At least 5 years of sales experience
Knowledge of building construction, residential, non-residential, and commercial sectors
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Practical computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
Preferred
Commercial construction experience preferred
EWP design software knowledge is a plus
