Responsibilities
You will lead a team of talented engineers responsible for building and maintaining Cloudflare’s billing and payments infrastructure
You will oversee the development of scalable, high-reliability financial infrastructure that handles everything related to Cloudflare’s revenue
Your work will directly support billions in revenue and millions of customers while enabling new product launches across Cloudflare
You will play a key role in rebuilding our entire billing platform, designing a next-generation financial infrastructure that ensures financial accuracy and seamless performance
Leading a team of skilled engineers, you will drive the execution of complex technical initiatives, ensuring our architecture is resilient, scalable, and future-proof
Beyond technical execution, you will focus on growing and mentoring a high-performing engineering team
You will set clear expectations, provide thoughtful feedback, and create an environment where engineers can thrive
You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, finance, data science, operations and support departments to align technical decisions with business objectives
Your ability to communicate effectively, manage priorities, and navigate a fast-paced environment will be critical in driving success
Qualification
Required
Experience leading a team or multiple teams of senior and staff engineers
Experience working with cross-functional teams, driving alignment, and clearly creating and communicating technical direction for large cross-company efforts
Comfortable leading and hiring a team that builds the backend systems and frontend parts of the product
Excel at planning, creating teams and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability
Comfortable building developer-loved APIs that scale
Demonstrate a track record of leading a team including hiring, on-boarding, and professional development
You inspire your team to reach higher
You're as good as explaining 'why' as you are 'how'
Experience implementing tools, process, internal instrumentation, methodologies and resolving blockages
Comfortable managing teams/projections with tight deadlines and short release cycles
Preferred
Experience building massive distributed systems
Experience leading teams working on areas of financial infrastructure, payments, billing, and data infrastructure
