The Technical Lead will be responsible for leading system architecture and building engineering foundations for AI-driven workflows as part of the integration of Hey Revia’s technology into OpenLoop's platform.

Responsibilities

Architect distributed, compliant backend systems on GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery)

Own system design decisions, including service boundaries, data schemas, and language tradeoffs (Go, Python, TypeScript)

Lead integration and orchestration of AI models, including open-source LLMs, embeddings, and speech pipelines

Optimize prompts, evaluations, and agent behavior using tools like LangFuse

Drive observability: event-driven ingestion, tracing, automated QA for call transcripts and EHR data (FHIR/Medplum)

Act as a player-coach: contribute to core code paths while mentoring engineers

Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Clinical Ops to align technical strategy

Champion reliability, compliance (HIPAA/SOC2), and scalable engineering practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years as a Tech Lead or team lead

Expert-level skill in at least one of Go, Python, or TypeScript/Node, with ability to review full-stack code

Deep experience building distributed systems, containerized deployments (Docker, k8s, Cloud Run), and event-driven architectures

Hands-on experience with LLMs: open-source model hosting (vLLM, Ollama), embeddings, and RAG design

Familiarity with regulated domains (HIPAA, SOC 2) and/or healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7)

Strong written and verbal communication; able to turn complexity into crisp RFCs and clear direction

Bias toward action with comfort in fast-paced, high-ownership engineering environments
