Responsibilities
Administering estates through probate, including preparing and filing necessary court documents and working with personal representatives
Assisting clients with trust administration, asset distribution, and resolving beneficiary concerns
Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced directives
Developing comprehensive legal strategies that address clients’ immediate and long-term objectives
Conducting legal research and drafting opinions, memoranda, and correspondence
Building and maintaining strong client relationships by understanding their goals and providing clear, actionable advice
Collaborating with colleagues across practice areas to deliver integrated legal solutions for clients
Qualification
Required
Active Virginia State Bar license (required)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning, estate administration, or general legal practice
Proven ability to draft complex legal documents with precision and clarity
Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships with clients
Excellent research and writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
A commitment to ethical standards, professionalism, and collaboration
Preferred
Experience advising fiduciaries and beneficiaries through probate or trust disputes
Familiarity with advanced estate planning techniques, such as irrevocable trusts and charitable giving strategies
