Mid, Senior LevelIndiana Wesleyan University seeks applications for a Mechanical Engineering faculty on the Marion, Indiana campus starting Fall 2027. This full-time permanent faculty position will join the growing Engineering department educating students pursuing a BSE degree with a specialization in various engineering fields.

Responsibilities
Teaching general engineering and discipline-specific engineering courses at all undergraduate levels
Student mentoring
Curriculum and laboratory course development and assessment in support of ABET accreditation
Senior project supervision
Community and/or industry engagement, and university service
Scholarship and participation in professional organizations are expected and supported
Teaching load is 12 credits per semester
Qualification
Required
Candidates with a master's degree and significant industry experience will also be considered
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
Ability to work with diverse faculty, staff, and students
A commitment to teaching excellence within a Christ-centered academic community is essential
Demonstrates a mature personal faith in Jesus Christ and embraces the theological and lifestyle commitments of the Wesleyan Church
Possesses the interpersonal qualities and skills to work effectively as a member of the Indiana Wesleyan University Natural Sciences faculty
Willingness to learn and use our online course management system
Willingness to learn new instructional strategies and techniques
Skills for evaluation of the impact of teaching on the teaching-learning process and implementation of modifications as appropriate
Skills in interpreting and acting upon recommendations identified in course and program evaluation
Preferred
A Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a closely related field, such as aerospace or agricultural engineering
Prior undergraduate teaching experience
Demonstrated ability to manage undergraduate research
