Howard Center is dedicated to providing specialized care through residential programs that serve clients with complex needs. The Acute Residential Counselor Floater will initiate and implement treatment plans, facilitate community inclusion, and provide necessary support and care for clients.

Responsibilities

Initiate constructive activities that address goals on a client's Individual Support Agreement (treatment plan)
Implement the support and crisis plans (utilizing Therapeutic Options training), in collaboration with the greater treatment team
Facilitate community inclusion, daily living, and skill acquisition]
Utilization of sound judgement and maintenance of clam demeanor during crisis
Provide needed behavioral and/or mental health support
Provide needed personal and/or medical care

Qualification

Human services experienceMedical equipmentTrauma-informed approachPerson-centered careAdhere to safety protocols

Required

Three to four years of experience in a human services or combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skill has been acquired
High school degree or equivalent
Routine lifting
Valid driver's license, and use of a personal vehicle
Ability to work either Saturday or Sunday
Knowledge of medical equipment
Committed to trauma-informed approach
Person-centered
Adhere to safety protocols
