Commercial Credit & Climate Finance Lead
Groundswell Capital is a nonprofit lending organization focused on sustainable economic development and access to capital. The Commercial Credit & Climate Finance Lead will be responsible for building a portfolio of commercial real estate and climate finance programs, engaging in business development, capital deployment, and portfolio management.

Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the CEO, support business development activities such as identifying, cultivating, and securing new lending and bond opportunities with developers, municipalities, and other partners
Contribute to strategies to grow and maintain a fresh pipeline of active projects
Represent the organization at industry events, panels, and conferences to promote programs and identify deal flow
Coming up to speed quickly on our products and services and the ability to articulate them to potential customers
Source, structure, and participate in underwriting real estate, infrastructure, and clean energy loans in accordance with organizational policies and risk standards with the support of a financial advisory team
Analyze borrower capacity, project feasibility, collateral, and repayment sources with the support of a financial advisory team
Prepare and present credit memos and recommendations for internal review and board approval with the support of a financial advisory team
Approach lending situations with an analyst mindset
Maintain strong borrower relationships throughout the life of the deal
Monitor portfolio performance, proactively address risks, and ensure ongoing compliance
Coordinate with servicing teams to ensure timely reporting, disbursement, and issue resolution
Support with the development and implementation of financial programs to meet the needs of our community
Collaborate with internal teams to align the fund’s goals with organizational impact, compliance, and reporting requirements
Achieve targets and key metrics of success for capital deployment and fund health
Ensure that all funder requirements are met, reporting is timely and accurate, and compliance data is updated
Facilitate a loan committee setting meetings, providing credit memos, and guiding effective discussions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, real estate, public administration, or related field, OR equivalent professional experience
3- 5 years' experience in finance, lending, community development finance, real estate development, or related field
Exceptional project management skills which includes attention to detail, professional multitasking, and follow through
Strong financial analysis, underwriting, and/or deal structuring skills
Knowledge of development, real estate finance, and/or clean energy infrastructure
Proven ability to cultivate and maintain partnerships with developers, municipalities, and industry stakeholders
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred
Familiarity with public finance tools
Experience with real estate and other hard-asset lending programs
Experience with climate financing
