Responsibilities

Review laboratory processes for the elimination of hazards associated with industrial chemicals

Provide insight on mixing operations, small-scale safety testing, thermal analyses, physical characterizations, and output characterizations

Aid in energetic material characterization efforts designed to understand small-scale explosive hazards

Facilitate meetings and assist working groups

Develop reports and specialized papers, review policies, and conduct briefings related to explosive formulations and mixing processes

Required

5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing, research, or lab setting for chemistry

Experience with manufacturing processes of chemicals, including inspection, maintenance, and storage

Knowledge of thermal and mechanical properties of materials

Knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generation and waste disposal policies and procedures

Knowledge of Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) policies and procedures

Knowledge of the theories, procedures, and analytical techniques necessary to produce reliable reviews, results, and conclusions of chemical process assessment

Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Science
