Structural Engineering – Cold-Formed – Project Manager - Hybrid
raSmith is a growing multi-disciplinary consulting civil and structural engineering and land surveying firm with over 45 years of experience. They are seeking a Structural Engineering Project Manager to organize and manage structural design efforts for multiple projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules while also leading a team of engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities
Organize and manage structural design efforts for multiple simultaneous projects while maintaining project budgets
Manage and review structural engineering drawings for assigned projects/work assignments including the preparation of plans, schedules and details
Review structural systems of primarily cold-formed steel framing for a variety of healthcare, commercial, retail, multi-family residential, industrial and institutional buildings nationwide
Review Structural calculations for submittal
Manage CAD and BIM Technicians to produce shop drawings and BIM models
Manage engineers on the team on larger projects
Assist with training and mentoring team members and technical skills training for professional growth and development
Assist with plan review for team members
Communicate with clients and maintain project schedules and design budgets
Help lead business development efforts for cold-formed projects, including identifying new opportunities and writing proposals
Develop and manage a portfolio of clients
Perform and lead the structural design of various building design projects. This includes development of structural design documents, calculations, and specifications
Perform construction administration duties
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university
Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in structural design of cold-formed steel building structures. Some experience with oversight is a plus
Extensive knowledge of cold-formed steel design and light steel framing
Strong working knowledge of AISI standards for cold-formed steel framing projects
Have ability to develop innovative solutions for complex problems
Leadership mentality and ability to work well with others
Good engineering judgement and decision making
Professional Engineer Licensure required
Working knowledge of various structural analysis and design programs including CFS Designer & RISA
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Applicable U.S. based work experience
Preferred
Illinois Structural Engineer Licensure
