Associate Accountant

Murphy Oil Corporation is seeking an Associate Accountant to assist in maintaining financial records using accounting methods and GAAP. The role involves reconciling accounts, researching discrepancies, and preparing financial reports.

Responsibilities

Reconcile/validate invoices, expense, payable, receivable, bank and other accounts
Research issues concerning entries, balances, vendors, accruals, chargebacks, etc
Submit data for the preparation of monthly and quarterly accounting reports
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned

Qualification

Required

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc
Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization
Intermediate: 10-Key, Spreadsheet
Basic: Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Contact Management, Database, Word Processing/Typing
