Responsibilities

In this key position, you will be involved in investigating and analyzing residential, commercial, and industrial properties to resolve claims and legal matters
Assignments may include contract disputes, installation deficiencies, material deficiencies, site evaluations, settlement investigations, structural assessments, and vibration analyses
Duties include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document on-site conditions, overseeing field-testing, and reviewing historical documentation
Preparation of oral and written reports to document the causes of failure, extent of loss, associated repair scope, and recommended remediation is essential, as is providing opinions and expert testimony in litigation matters

Required

Ability to initiate, develop, and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships
Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
10 years minimum engineering experience working with residential, commercial, and industrial properties
PE license required
NCEES record required
Experience handling litigation and investigations is required
Knowledge of fundamental architectural and/or engineering principles, construction, and building component assemblies
The ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, to clients and other involved parties, regarding the details of the project's engineering/architectural issues
Must be willing to drive 2-3 hours per day for fieldwork
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform inspections in confined spaces
Must be able to inspect building roof structures and crawlspaces
