Responsibilities
Lead the design of complex, high-impact technical solutions across multiple systems and teams, contributing to the overall technology vision across Enterprise Risk
Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into architectural blueprints and implementation roadmaps
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring alignment with architecture principles and best practices
Own and evolve architectural standards, patterns, and documentation for long-term scalability and maintainability
Evaluate emerging technologies and make strategic recommendations aligned with business goals
Conduct architectural reviews and provide hands-on support when needed for technical decisions
Drive cross-functional alignment, balancing innovation, speed, and technical debt
Collaborate with Freddie Mac Enterprise Technology, Architecture, Data, and Security organizations to ensure solutions are aligned with enterprise standards and principles
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
10+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on experience with modern frameworks and technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Kafka, Angular, Java, Python)
8+ years in a senior architectural or technical leadership role
Deep experience in solution architecture, microservices, APIs, integration patterns, security best practices, micro-front ends, 12 factor, etc
Proven track record of designing and deploying scalable, cloud-native solutions within AWS, Azure, or GCP (AWS is preferred)
Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies
3+ years of relevant large-scale enterprise transformation experience as relates to architecture preferred
Prior experience in the primary or secondary mortgage industry is desirable, with architecture experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., (finance, healthcare) required
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
Ability to influence senior stakeholder and translate complex ideas into actionable outcomes
Preferred
3+ years of relevant large-scale enterprise transformation experience as relates to architecture preferred
Certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, etc.) are preferred
