Responsibilities
Deployment and configuration: Install, configure, and manage Palo Alto firewalls in various environments (on-premises and cloud)
Policy and rule management: Implement and maintain security policies, access controls, VPNs, and NAT rules
Monitoring and incident response: Monitor network traffic, analyze logs, and respond to security events and incidents. Participation in 24/7 on call rotation
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve complex network and firewall-related issues
Maintenance: Keep firewall software, threat databases, and licenses up-to-date
Optimization: Optimize firewall performance and ensure high availability
Qualification
Required
Expertise with Palo Alto firewalls and the Panorama management platform is crucial
Experience with cloud environments and their integration with Palo Alto solutions is required
Understanding of security best practices, intrusion detection/prevention (IDS/IPS), and threat prevention is essential
Ability to document configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps is necessary
Participation in 24/7 on call rotation
Knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP, OSPF, and BGP is desirable
Perform regular firewall audits and rulebase reviews
Guide and mentor junior engineers
Work with other teams, including network and application teams, to implement solutions and address security needs
Participate in change management, contribute to system design, and assist in planning
Identify and resolve complex network and firewall-related issues
Monitor network traffic, analyze logs, and respond to security events and incidents
Keep firewall software, threat databases, and licenses up-to-date
Optimize firewall performance and ensure high availability
Preferred
Knowledge of PANOS-SDWAN, Prisma Access, and Aruba Clearpass is highly desirable
