CNC Programmer/Technician
Metal Exchange is a leading provider of quality aluminum cast products and extrusions. They are seeking a CNC Setup Engineer responsible for preparing and setting up CNC machines, programming them, and ensuring the quality of machined parts while collaborating with manufacturing teams to optimize processes.

Responsibilities
Prepare CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines for production runs by installing and aligning fixtures, tools, and materials according to job specifications
Develop and/or edit CNC programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software or directly at the machine controls
Choose appropriate cutting tools and other accessories based on job requirements, material type, and machine capabilities
Conduct test runs to ensure that CNC programs and setups produce parts that meet quality standards and specifications
Identify and resolve issues related to programming, tooling, machine setup, or mechanical problems that affect production
Maintain accurate records of setups, programs, tooling changes, and production parameters for future reference and quality control
Work closely with manufacturing engineers, programmers, and operators to optimize production processes and achieve production goals
Monitor and inspect machined parts to ensure they meet dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements
Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements while operating CNC machines and performing setup activities
Recommend and implement improvements in setup procedures, tooling, and machining techniques to enhance productivity and efficiency
Provide feedback for inflow and outflow of material to machine that complies with safety and run rate specifications
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, electrical, or industrial engineering or related field
2 to 5 years of experience as a CNC Setup Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment
Familiar with risk assessment techniques such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and fault tree analysis
Understanding of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and AS9100
Proficiency in CNC programming and operating various types of CNC machines
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, and material properties
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills
Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available; OPT/CPT is not eligible for this role
