BUDGET TECHNICIAN (OFFICE AUTOMATION)
USAJOBS is seeking a Budget Technician to perform clerical and technical work in direct support of budget analysis and administration. The role involves managing budget formulation and execution, providing quality customer service, and supporting the financial analysis process.

Responsibilities
Independently performs a variety of complex budgetary, administrative, and statistical functions to support budget formulation
Independently performs tasks involving budget execution by compiling resource data from various financial management reports
Manages the unit's training program
Performs technical tasks in support of the financial analysis process
Provides quality customer service. Uses varied and advanced functions of word processing software to create, format, modify, edit, and print a variety of letters, reports, memos, and other textual documents

This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, PL 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
A qualified typist is required
Must be a current Air Force employee
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, Budget clerical and Assistance, Series 0561
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of the application of procedures, methods, and techniques which support the analysis and administration of the budget; and of a wide range of sources, types, and methods of funding
Knowledge of a wide variety of budgetary methods, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and precedents; and the accounting system and related documents used to gather and analyze budgetary information
Knowledge of automated management data systems and word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents, such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters
Knowledge of training goals and objectives to assist in the management and implementation of training goals for the unit(s)
Skill in working accurately with figures; and in typing; a qualified typist is required
Ability to communicate orally and in writing
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level
