Responsibilities

Serve as a recognized authority on the repair and operation of various types of ARNG equipment
Provide instruction and assistance regarding equipment maintenance procedures, techniques, and methods as a part of the Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Team (MAIT)
Provide advice, assistance, and guidance regarding maintenance management systems, material readiness programs, cost reduction programs, and maintenance shop practices in maintenance facilities
Receive, review, and process unit Army Material Status System (AMSS) reports and Missile Material Readiness reports and submit a consolidated report to the Logistics Support Activity (LOGSA)
Prepare and conduct both classroom and on-the-job training designed to upgrade, improve, and/or update the knowledge and working skills of unit maintenance personnel
Develop, write, update, and teach units of instruction for new equipment training
Evaluate training progress in areas such as basic mechanic principles; theories of equipment repair and modification; compliance with established procedures and directives; requirements for equipment maintenance records and reports; and proper utilization of equipment, personnel, funds, and facilities

Required

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
LL.B. or J.D
Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more classes of equipment
Knowledge of standard shop terminology
A basic knowledge of mechanical principles relating to equipment
Experience must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical publications
Knowledge is of the type gained from technical training, education, and experience in functions such as repairing, overhauling, maintaining, constructing, or inspecting equipment
Experience using computer and automation systems
At least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and federal civilian or military personnel programs
Knowledge and skill in applying commonly used equipment, facility, or service principles and concepts
Experience in the use of tools and test equipment
Experience which provided knowledge of maintenance programs and techniques
Experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment design
Experience developing, installing, inspecting, or revising equipment maintenance programs and techniques
