Responsibilities
Peform day to day purchasing activities as they relate to sourcing of direct material
Manage communication with the supply base, buyers, and the production planners
Demonstrate project management skills in overseeing RFQs, project deliverables, and timelines aligned with business unit objectives
Develop relationships with internal colleagues and external supply base, to ensure business continuity of material delivery
Participate in program meetings and provide information critical to the success of launch and/or securing of new business
Manage supplier performance by conducting regular business reviews, monitoring key metrics, deliver scorecards, and continuously evaluating and improving the overall supply base
Perform global sourcing to identify raw material and component suppliers, leveraging sourcing expertise to evaluate total cost in supplier selection
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree preferred. Business, operations, management, or equivalent
3 years plus of experience (direct material sourcing preferred)
MRP/ERP Systems
Procurement/commodity management
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Some kneeling or reaching may be required
