They are seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to lead and coordinate engineering activities for the APKWS – International Segment, which involves technical planning, communication with program managers, and development of system test strategies.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate all engineering activities associated with the APKWS – International Segment of the Aviation Weapons Portfolio of programs

Support the APKWS – International Program Manager through coordination and overall communications with the baseline APKWS Program

Perform technical planning and develop the appropriate Technical Assistance Agreements that will be delivered through our Export Control leadership

Prepare for the appropriate APKWS International Test activities

Support the development of verifiable requirements and compliance matrix files for the Foreign Military Sales segment of APKWS

Generate overall system test strategies, along with associated documentation to include system verification plans and procedures

Ensure that appropriate facilities and test equipment needed for system level testing are planned and made available at the appropriate scheduled time

Coordinate across engineering disciplines

Required

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Experience with Semi-Active Laser Systems

Understanding and background in RF/EO/IR systems architecture, modeling, design and test for guidance and navigation systems

Experience with planning and conducting field test events at US Government Test Facilities

Familiarity with low cost and low SWaP design and development

Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other engineering disciplines

Preferred

Experience in DASAL Technology and Laser Guided Munitions

Ability to Coordinate vendors and teams in development of passive/active sensor systems for test/evaluation

Assist in the flow down of requirements to testable modular hardware and software

Support trade studies, presentations, proposals and related activities

Experience leading technical teams

Ability to understand and generate CONOPS

Develop requirements in response to customer operational needs and mature operational concepts, and derive technical baselines necessary to meet the requirements

Assist in the flow down of requirements to testable modular hardware and software

Experience working across the entire Systems Lifecycle
