Motion Graphic Designer
Florida Gulf Coast University is a member-supported service providing educational programming through WGCU, Southwest Florida’s source for PBS and NPR. The Motion Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and managing motion graphics for TV news and video content, supporting marketing initiatives and ensuring brand alignment across various platforms.
Responsibilities
Manages the design and development of pictures, drawing, and motion graphic materials for TV news, video content and station communications that support WGCU content and station communications and marketing initiatives
Translates organizational or client goals into strategic media deliverables
Creates graphics for multiplatform content utilizing motion graphics templates (MOGRTs) to produce graphic elements
Collaborate with the marketing and traffic operations to get promotions on-air and marketing materials distributed to external partners
Assist with developing the look and feel of multi-platform branding campaigns, programming launches, and marketing partnerships
Assists with generating ideas for graphic design projects that achieve strategic goals and ensures that the designs follow the correct branding
Oversees all facets of graphics production including pre-production meetings, concept development, editing materials, presentation of drafts, and archiving
Develops, presents and gains approval on scope, content and budget for graphic design projects
Communicates artistic themes in digital graphics and show formats. presentation mediums
Build and maintain project management skills in order to set schedules, determine workload allocation etc
Maintains files and records of graphic designs; ensures the timely completion of all work presented to the graphics unit
Reviews progress, evaluates results, implements new processes, and promotes best practices in graphic design and execution
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Performs advanced video editing and creative skills to create and enhance storytelling, communications and marketing content
May supervise student workers, interns, or OPS staff as assigned
Participates in on-air fundraising campaigns
Qualification
Required
This position requires either four years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field
Professional full-time experience in graphic design or website development
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution In an appropriate area of specialization
Four years experience in VFX, print and motion graphics
Experience producing multiplatform video
Experience using After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop
Experience in current digital video trends
Proficiency in the use of motion graphics templates (MOGRTs) to produce dynamic graphic elements
Adobe Certifications
