Controls (Forward Deployed) Engineer II
Trane Technologies is a leader in creating innovative climate solutions for buildings, homes, and transportation. The Controls (Forward Deployed) Engineer II will be responsible for unit control integration for Trane Air-cooled Data Center Chillers, including interpreting customer design requirements and overseeing control wiring designs and prototypes.

Responsibilities
Work with product management and application engineering to understand product requirements
Develop control strategies to meet or exceed product requirements
Utilize effective communication techniques to help customers and team members implement the design strategy
Lead dynamic controls testing, test planning, run test support, and data analysis
Integrate new electrical hardware into product to support data center control strategies
Able to travel overnight 5% of the time
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Software, Computer or Electrical Engineering and at least 3-years of relevant work experience is required
Strong interest in Data Center applications and operating conditions for refrigeration equipment
Competency in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint) required
Classical control knowledge (PID control, linear control, digital filtering)
Ability to effectively communicate with others both written and orally
Computer skills Java, C++, C with ability to learn new programming languages
Ability to lead a root cause analysis on pre-production equipment and during equipment commissioning
Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Must be tenacious with quality and customer service orientation
Preferred
Basic experience with 3D-CAD applications is a plus
