Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining relationships with core fixed income and specialty external asset managers, including public equity, private equity, real estate, bank loans, high yield, and other asset classes
Record and share with team meeting summaries of ongoing manager calls
Participate in performing diligence on new managers being considered
Help review manager performance vs. benchmarks
Provide ongoing quantitative and qualitative assessment of managers
Assist in data validation and report automation efforts
Assist in monitoring portfolio performance vs. budget throughout the year, providing attribution by asset class
Support presentation preparation for senior management
Assist in monitoring compliance with internal and external portfolio constraints and investment guidelines
Learn to interpret insurance regulatory and rating agency investment limits
Work with regional portfolio management team to ensure excess investable cash balance is minimized
Track sources and uses of cash across portfolios
Summarize key market trends for internal discussions
Provide regular written updates on interest rate, credit, and equity markets and macroeconomic news
Ascertain how these updates will affect the investment portfolios
Participate in creation of quarterly investment update presentations and monthly liquidity reporting
Contribute to development of new exhibits and automation of existing processes
Assist with monthly performance reporting estimate for Enstar’s aggregate portfolio

Required

Bachelor's degree in finance, science, math, or engineering
Internship in finance or demonstrable quantitative or data-oriented coursework
Desire to develop expertise in manager research, institutional portfolio management, and insurance investment frameworks
CFA progress or interest
Understanding of basic investment concepts and portfolio theory
Strong interest in multi-asset investing and institutional portfolio construction
Familiarity with asset allocation and insurance capital concepts
Awareness of both traditional (fixed income, equities) and alternative (private markets, hedge funds) asset classes
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are critical, given the requirement to develop investment analytics and proposals
Familiarity with Bloomberg is a plus
Quantitative skills are required for the portfolio construction and risk measurement processes
Analytical curiosity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are required
Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines as well as willingness to enhance existing processes is critical

Preferred

Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and programming for data analysis (Python, R, or SQL)
