ELECTRICIAN I, II, III
The City of Gastonia is seeking Electricians I, II, and III to perform technical work in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical components for City facilities. The role requires varying levels of supervision and responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical circuits, as well as training unskilled workers.

Responsibilities
Trouble-shoot electrical components (25%)
Repair and replace outdated electrical components (20%)
Install new electrical circuits (20%)
Discuss job requirements with and receive instructions from supervisor (5%)
Inspect for National Electrical Code violations (5%)
Develop work assignments based upon priorities (5%)
Requisition necessary equipment and materials (5%)
Maintain time and materials records (5%)
Train and instruct unskilled and semi-skilled workers (5%)
Serves on the emergency on-call rotation (5%)
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree in electronic technology, or related field and moderate experience in the maintenance of automated electrical or electronic control systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid North Carolina driver's license
NIMS 100, 200, and 700 training certificates within 12 months of hire for Electrician I, II, and III
Possession of a Journeyman Electrical License for Electrician I
Possession of a limited North Carolina Electric license upon hire for Electrician II
Possession of an Unlimited Electrical License for Electrician III
The employee must pull permits in his/her name or the license must be signed over to the City of Gastonia
