Electrical Helper Trainee

Responsibilities

Assists journeyman level and workers with assigned that cannot be handled alone
Using the materials and power/hand tools common to the trade
Assisting with installing neat cable bands with protective rubber, demonstrate a proficiency in this entry level tasking
Assisting with installing transit blocks in the transit frame with proper calculations to cable sizing and frame sizes, then compressing to complete water tight integrity, demonstrate a proficiency in this entry level tasking
Assisting in de-installing cable is a very elementary task, remove cables per verbal or written instruction from shipboard cable ways, performing this independently should be a reasonable expectation of a trainee, and demonstrate a proficiency in this entry level tasking
Assisting with installation of cable, through hangers and transits, in a neat, organized manner. With repetitive assignments and general instruction employees should begin to demonstrate a proficiency in this entry level tasking
Assisting with neatly and safely wiring two and three wire power, control circuits, motor connections
Receiving instructions/training on other connectors (fiber optics) and terminations via blueprint/ coeds for development

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service
A one-year probationary period may be required
