Responsibilities

Develop & document system airworthiness and certification plans for FAA and Military integrated certification process for large complex systems
Support customer FAA and Military airworthiness and certification plans and meetings
Prepare and provide requirements for airworthiness and certification/qualifications for sub-tier subcontractors and internal suppliers. Support/assist in preparation of Systems and Product specification and Statements of Work
Interface with supply chain, engineering IPTs and suppliers to obtain requisite documentation and artifacts to certify procured elements
Prepare SDRL and input data in conjunction with IPTs to provide artifacts to Prime and USG
Coordinate across engineering teams and business functions in the certification of large complex systems
Apply SysML concepts for Model Based Systems Engineering across a full engineering lifecycle
Provide inputs to Plan project level work plans and meet schedule, cost, and performance goals
Manage program technical risks by evaluating requirements and design aspects
Interact with a cross-functional team of (including, but not limited to) Engineers, Engineering leaders, Program Managers, Business Developers, Finance, Quality, and Production
Understand and support the manufacturing build, test, quality, and customer acceptance review processes
Serve as a liaison between functional discipline groups and internal and external customers
Travel occasionally to support program requirements
Requires on-site presence in a classified lab space

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Proven Experience executing an engineering development with regulatory and certification requirements: TSO, DO-160, DO-254, DO-178C, ARP-4754 or Military Airworthiness requirements and process in accordance with MIL-HDBK-516 and MIL-STD-882. Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of Systems Engineers
Effective communication skills with all levels of management, program team members, and external stakeholders

Preferred

Proven experience integrating communication/RF, network, or mission systems
Experience and exposure to other related disciplines such as subcontract management technical support, Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V), efforts human factors, system safety, reliability & maintainability, and cybersecurity. Project Management, Control Account Management (CAM), and earned value experience
Working knowledge of bidding and project/task estimation tools (e.g. SEER products)
Experience with processes such as peer review, configuration, and change management
Participating in root cause analysis and corrective actions
