Electrical Design Engineer- Large Power Transformers
Siemens Energy is a global leader in energy technology, seeking a highly skilled Electrical Designer to support transformer engineers in their factories worldwide. This role focuses on implementing new tools and innovative solutions, ensuring design processes are efficient and aligned with the needs of global operations.

Responsibilities
Provide Technical Support: Give quick support to product engineers and assist transformer engineers with R&D rules and tools to minimize downtime
Test and Improve Tools: Conduct pre-release tests of tools in real-world scenarios and provide feedback to developers
Streamline Information Flow: Improve information flow and facilitate communication between factories, R&D, and other stakeholders, ensuring R&D development aligns with factory needs
Ensure Quality and Knowledge Transfer: Ensure consistent global quality through structured technology transfer and work on a centralized knowledge hub for engineers
Cultivate a Learning Community: Cultivate a community for experts to share knowledge and develop training programs for widespread adoption of best practices
Propose Improvements: Use your understanding of factory experiences to propose improvements for tools and rules, linking R&D advancements with practical engineering applications
Qualification
Required
5 or more years of experience in Power Transformers Design
A strong understanding of various transformer types, including their electrical design and the calculations for dielectric, electro-magnetic, heating, cooling, and noise
Good understanding of transformer components and their interactions, such as the core, windings, insulation, and leads
A good understanding of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality processes, along with experience in technical product development
Strong communication skills and a willingness to work in an agile development culture, share knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement
Willing and able to travel, as needed (1-2 trips per year)
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
