Operations & Accounting Intern

Responsibilities
Perform daily reconciliation of positions and cash between portfolios, brokers, custodians and administrators to ensure accuracy and mitigate operational risk
Book daily trade adjustments and non-trading activity, maintaining accurate and timely transaction data
Monitor trade activity, identify discrepancies and work with brokers and custodians to ensure timely resolution of trade breaks, supporting the Firm’s compliance and risk monitoring programs
Support preparation of timely and accurate reporting for internal and external stakeholders, including investor-facing materials in coordination with Investor Relations
Identify opportunities within operations workflows where agentic AI or automation can enhance accuracy, efficiency or monitoring capabilities
Under the direction of the Operations Team, assist in the design, building and testing of AI-assisted workflows to automate or streamline repeatable processes
Support financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, expense allocations and reporting to management under the direction of the Accounting Team
Support the annual external audit process by preparing schedules, gathering documentation and responding to audit requests
Track expense accruals and assist in the calculation and processing of expense payments
Support core fund accounting processes, including processing subscriptions and withdrawals and assisting with monthly closes under the direction of the Accounting Team
Contribute to annual fund audit and tax reporting by compiling documentation, preparing analyses and coordinating with external auditor and tax provider
Conduct compliance monitoring and testing to ensure adherence to firm policies and regulatory requirements
Contribute to ad hoc compliance projects, audits and testing initiatives enhancing the Firm’s control environment
Explore applications of AI-assisted compliance testing or documentation management, ensuring all outputs are reviewed for accuracy and regulatory adherence
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an undergraduate program, or as a first or second-year graduate student, in accounting, finance, or a related field
Foundational understanding of accounting principles
Familiarity with financial and accounting software
Basic proficiency in Excel (you can make a pivot table with ease and know how to use vLookup or Index Match) and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred
Candidates enrolled in programs that integrate CPA-track coursework
Candidates who have already passed one or more parts of the CPA exam and expect to complete the CPA designation
Prior internship experience in financial services focused on operations, accounting or compliance
Advanced coursework in investment accounting, financial reporting or regulatory compliance
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g. SEC or FINRA requirements)
Experience handling highly sensitive or confidential information
