Sr. Engineer, EHS

The Sr. EHS Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and implementing effective safety management systems to reduce injuries and enhance productivity.
Non-profit Organization Management
Responsibilities
Implements safety, health and environmental policies, practices, and procedures
Conducts regular safety inspections and hazard assessments at assigned sites
Provides product safety reviews, risk assessments, and regulatory certifications
Delivers safety training sessions on topics such as ergonomics, PPE, and emergency response
Supports international sites and site EHS Representatives
Supports workers’ compensation claims management and interfaces with workers’ compensation specialist to reduce workers’ compensation costs
Develops job safety analyses (JSAs) and safe work procedures
Investigates incidents and supports root cause analysis and corrective actions
Reviews product safety, risk assessments, and regulatory certifications
Partners with engineering and operations teams to ensure machine designs meet applicable safety standards
Hazardous waste management, including collection, labeling, storage, and disposal
Maintains accurate records for training, audits, and compliance reporting
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health & safety, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
5+ years of EHS experience; multi-site or international scope a plus
Knowledge of OSHA, applicable ISO, CE marking, UL, ANSI, and equivalent international standards
Familiarity with EHS software, dashboards, and KPIs for trend analysis and compliance tracking
Ability to communicate complex info in a simplified and clear manner
Ability to create positive interactions with colleagues
Ability to interface well with others and balance the interests of multiple stakeholders
Ability to synthesize and analyze multiple sources of information to independently solve problems
Ability to manage time and priorities appropriately
Ability to adapt to change and multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
Takes personal accountability for decisions, actions & outcomes
Ability to settle differences in productive ways while minimizing disruptions
Maintains & fosters sensitivity and respect for cultural diversity
Always shares and transfers knowledge locally and/or globally to team members
Preferred
Relevant professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CPEA, ISO Lead Auditor) a plus
