Responsibilities
Performs a variety of clerical functions on the Nursing Unit including, but not limited to, meeting, greeting, and orienting patients to floor
Answers questions from patients and/or family members or redirects to appropriate care team member for response
Transcribes orders; prepares patient chart on admission; ensures that chart is maintained appropriately; dismantles chart upon discharge; prepares diet and census sheets; rewrites medex once a week; prepares venipuncture list; assists in coordinating and compiling statistics as needed
Assists the care team with the discharge process
Answers telephones in a professional manner; distributes mail
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Preferred
Minimum of 1 year experience in a doctor's office or healthcare facility preferred
