Assistant Corporate Controller

The Assistant Corporate Controller will support the Corporate Controller in overseeing accounting, reporting, and compliance functions while ensuring accuracy and transparency across financial operations.

Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income, balance sheet, and cash flow statements; provide actionable insights to leadership
Manage month-end close processes and ensure accuracy across general ledger accounts
Support the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial plans
Ensure accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll; maintain compliance with wage, tax, and regulatory standards
Supervise day-to-day accounting operations including invoicing, payments, deposits, and expense reconciliations
Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to protect company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP
Prepare audit schedules, assist external auditors, and ensure timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns
Assist in managing corporate insurance programs, workers’ compensation, and OSHA reporting requirements
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and enhance financial reporting systems
Mentor and support accounting staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring alignment with company standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity or multi-state organization
Proven background in financial reporting, general ledger management, and audit coordination
Payroll and tax compliance experience across multiple jurisdictions
Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks Online preferred) and Microsoft Excel
Experience with ERP, payroll (Rippling preferred), and reporting tools (EXL Reports, Google Workspace)
High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration across departments
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
