Engineer I - V CNS

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) is seeking an Engineer I - V CNS to support the Engineering Programs & Components Department at Cooper Nuclear Station. The Engineer will manage assigned engineering programs, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance while contributing to the efficient operation of the facility.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage assigned Engineering programs
Develop, implement, and maintain program procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Monitor program performance, conduct regular assessments, and implement improvements as needed
Perform technical analysis to evaluate the condition and performance of systems and components within the assigned programs
Prepare detailed reports and documentation, including findings, recommendations, and action plans
Present findings to management and other stakeholders, providing technical expertise and guidance
Ensure all activities within the assigned programs adhere to safety and regulatory requirements
Participate in Engineering program reviews, audits, and inspections
Stay updated on industry regulations and standards
Work closely with other Engineers, Operations, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of program activities
Provide technical support and training to plant personnel on program-related matters
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a collaborative work environment
Identify opportunities for improvement within the assigned programs, leveraging best practices and innovative solutions
Implement and monitor improvement initiatives, measuring their impact on program performance
Stay informed about advancements in technology relevant to the assigned programs

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET Accredited School)
Proficient communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel and Word
Technical writing skills
Entry into the Nuclear Engineering Support Program (ESP)

Preferred

Mechanical or Electrical Engineer degree preferred
