Payment Specialist

The Payment Specialist is responsible for processing telecom payments, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining data within various internal software applications and external banking portals.

Responsibilities

Quickly, accurately, and completely process high volumes of payments to designated vendors and/or clients via online or phone interaction
Document payment success or failure with internal payment system defined outcomes
Manage vendor's auto pay process to ensure that all payments have been initiated on the portal along with reconciling the payments to ensure they were paid in full
Maintain high levels of accuracy of payments processed ensuring exact alignment to the specified payment due amounts within the internal payment system
Communicate payment details with vendors directly in a professional and courteous manner in order to facilitate completion of payments
Escalate any errors encountered to management in a detailed, timely and accurate fashion
Provide an accurate and timely response to any issues that are on hold, ensuring follow-up and resolution
Continuously review and prioritize work load during each day
Collaborate with internal teams regarding any client related questions related to payments
Provide coverage when needed across the internal Payment Specialist and Analyst teams, assisting with daily tasks
Continually stay abreast of Tangoe’s software products and processes. Work to acquire and maintain expertise on Telecom Expense Management, (TEM) and identify opportunities for process improvements
Work with department management and team members to define and implement best practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business and/or equivalent experience in a similar position
2+ years' experience
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills are required with the ability to continuously transition from one objective to another
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exists
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
Strong financial and accounting skills
Excellent time management skills
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
