They are seeking a Senior Actuary who will be responsible for valuation, modeling, and pricing, while supporting the Chief Actuary with financial analysis and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

Perform quarterly actuarial valuation and annual assumption setting process

Support the actuarial aspects of financial reporting, business planning projections as well as regulatory filings

Performing in-depth experience analysis on life and annuity decrements and policyholder behavior

Support interactions with external auditors and the external Approved Actuary’s team

In coordination with the Chief Risk Officer work to implement the design and documentation of actuarial controls and critical actuarial risk governance policies

Review and validate MG-ALFA outputs including asset and liability cashflows

Analyze and explain quarterly changes in statutory reserves

Facilitate monthly reinsurance settlement process, reviewing for accuracy and completeness

Other ad hoc projects and tasks as required

Required

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, etc

Associate of the Society of Actuaries is required at a minimum

+ Must pursue obtaining a FSA within 2 years of employment if you are successfully hired

4 years' post Associate actuarial experience with a strong preference for annuity reinsurance and asset modeling exposure

Knowledge of key financial reporting, accounting, and solvency regimes, including Bermuda Monetary Authority and / or Cayman Islands Monetary Authority regulations and Solvency II, US GAAP, US Statutory, and US tax

Experience with actuarial valuation software such as MG-ALFA required, experience in programing and systems automation a plus

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with sound judgment and decision-making

Able and willing to work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines as needed

Preferred

Fellow of the Society of Actuaries is preferred

Experience with actuarial valuation process design, controls, and automation preferred

Previous experience in pricing and valuation of annuity products or blocks of policies a plus

Familiarity with fixed deferred annuities (FIA, MYGA)
