Sr Financial Analyst

The Sr Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis through budgeting, monthly/quarterly close, and forecasting processes, specifically focusing on distributor remittances and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities

Review and understand contractual terms to accurately input into financial databases for proper revenue recognition
Manage & resolve high volume of accurate and timely input of monthly distributor remittances, ensuring the integrity of data transferred among various financial applications
Perform system reconciliations and reporting & analysis to ensure the accuracy of revenue recognition. Troubleshoot and resolve system errors
Participate in identifying & implementing improvement process through standardization and with emerging technologies
Perform month end close and accounting activities
Maintain and monitor outstanding account receivable balances and communicate with customers to reconcile variances and ensure payments / subscriber reporting is received
Prepare and communicate monthly results to senior management inclusive of explaining month to month changes
Work closely with USD senior management and business partners to build planning assumptions for current year forecast and upcoming annual budget & long-range planning
Communicate and coordinate across Paramount finance on key budget assumptions owned by the USD business

Required

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative area of study or equivalent work experience required
Minimum of 4-5+ years of experience of relevant finance or accounting work
High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, must be comfortable working with large data sets
Strong interpersonal and oral/written communications skills for conveying essential information, ability to contextualize data optimally and efficiently
Ability to learn quickly, be flexible and adapt to changing industry and organizational landscape
Demonstration of basic Accounting/Finance knowledge (e.g. account reconciliation, debits/credits, etc.)

Preferred

Experience in general ledger systems (e.g. Oracle) a plus
Experience in forecasting and reporting tools (e.g. automation tools, SAP Analytics Cloud, Longview, Tableau, Cognos) a plus
Interest in and passion for media and technology
