Science and Technology Requirements Engineer

The United States Space Force (USSF) Headquarters at The Pentagon is seeking a Science and Technology Requirements Engineer. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop system specifications, and ensure the seamless transition of new technology solutions into existing systems.

Responsibilities

Work closely with cross functional teams including senior leaders, acquisition program managers, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, develop system specifications, and ensure seamless transition of new technology solution into existing systems across the commercial and Department of War
Produce and integrate USSF Science and Technology (S&T) priorities required to advance needed technology
Conduct or direct activities or assist higher levels on challenging and innovative program development with only general guidance on policy, resources and planning; develop solutions to highly complex problems requiring various disciplines; responsible for fulfilling program objectives
Serve as General Engineer supporting integrated Acquisition Teams; develop and recommend S&T planning, program development, design, and construction policy for a wide variety of emerging technologies
Monitor and report command execution of Space Force cost controls, reprogramming actions, and emergency construction consistent with program requirements and Space Force goals
Provide acquisition policy, guidance and direction to the Field Commands and Laboratories for the execution of the research and development programs interfacing with the appropriate participants throughout these processes to determine schedules and quality/performance objectives
Improve policy and guidance to meet Space Force strategic objectives
Represent the organization and higher management echelons and provide status information on assigned projects/programs, as required, in high level meetings and discussions with senior officials, both within and outside the DoW

U.S. Citizenship Required
Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed 'Unscheduled Telework'
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance
May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments
This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing
A professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution engineering or a closely related field is required
