Job Developer

Community Bridges is a non-profit agency dedicated to the integration and growth of individuals with developmental disabilities. The Job Developer will work in partnership with individuals and businesses to create meaningful employment opportunities and advocate for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Promotes and develops sustained relationships with employers inside Community Bridges catchment area
Promotes and develops employment and on-the-job training opportunities for individuals
Assists employers in revising standards which exclude individuals from jobs
Demonstrates to employers' effectiveness and profitability of employing individuals with intellectual disabilities or acquired brain injuries by identifying jobs that workers could perform
Establishes relationships with employers regarding problems, complaints, and progress of recently placed individuals and recommends corrective action
Promotes and develops on-the-job training program opportunities with employers and assists in writing contracts
Identifies need for and assists in development of auxiliary services to facilitate bringing individuals into job-ready status
Instruct applicants in resume writing, job search, and interviewing techniques as requested
Manage the allocation of program resources to accomplish the goals established for the fiscal year to provide vocational and administrative services and supervision to vocational and administrative staff
Responsible for the development of vendor ship contract(s) with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation
Ensure services are delivered in accordance with New Hampshire State rules and regulations
Ensures adequate staff training on job sites
Ensures compliance with agency policies regarding safety/accidents
Maintains established monthly billing procedures for all Vocational Rehabilitation clients
Acts as a liaison for Vocational Rehabilitation participants in active Vocational Rehabilitation client review meetings
Represents and participates in statewide employment committees and initiatives
Assures communication with case managers and clinical staff regarding consumer progress and problems
Attends department and staff meetings, team meetings, trainings and in-services as assigned
Represents the Agency at external events and functions
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
Experience in the human service or related field with persons with disabilities desirable skills in coaching, mentoring, or vocational also desirable
One year supervisory experience required
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to plan and perform a wide variety of duties related to program administration
Must exercise independent judgment and use discretion in the performance of these duties while operating within the limits of standard practice
Ability to plan and perform diversified duties requiring knowledge of vocational services and the management of a team providing such services
Ability to access placement, support, and provide clear communication with prospective employers required
Holds valid driver's license, proof of adequate automobile insurance and reliable transportation required
Ability to access community resources, activities and social gatherings
Ability to advocate for, provide support to, and assist individuals to advocate for their rights
Ability to represent Community Bridges services to the public and maintain a positive image to the community at large
Ability to work as a member of a team and carry out team decisions
Ability to collaborate with individual families, team members and community citizens on behalf of each individual
Ability to acquire knowledge of Community Bridges mission, values, policy and procedures
Ability to acquire computer competencies
Ability to work a flexible work schedule with occasional nights and weekends
Drive individuals in their car
Use their car in frequently during their shift
Are required to take Defensive Driving at time of hire and every three years while employed
Are required to show proof of $100,000/$300,000 liability car insurance at time of hire and at renewal of policy
Must be physically and mentally capable of performing multiple tasks under stressful situations
Must be able to respond positively in a crisis situation
The job requires standing, stretching, bending, walking, lifting and transporting a minimum of 10 pounds
Must be able to climb stairs
Must be capable of using a visual display terminal with continuous wrist movement on a keyboard
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time

Preferred

Familiarity with people with a developmental disability, acquired brain injuries, and/or a mental illness preferred
