Postdoctoral Research Associate - College of Engineering – Department of Chemical Engineering

Responsibilities
Designing and building a custom fluorimeter
Developing methods for near-IR detection and quantification
Measuring absorption and emission of powder samples
Developing data collection and analysis methods
Performing gas-phase catalytic reactions with gas- and liquid-product analysis
Collaborating with graduate students
Contributing to manuscript and proposal writing
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field with a focus on spectroscopy, photophysics, or photochemistry
Experience building optical setups
Experience in performing steady-state and time-resolved spectroscopy measurements
Proficiency with Python or Matlab
Excellent scientific writing and communication skills with a track record of peer-reviewed publications
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
