Legal Intern
The Office of the Ohio Consumers' Counsel (OCC) serves as the statewide legal representative for Ohio's residential consumers regarding utility services. The Legal Intern will assist with legal research, drafting pleadings, and participating in evidentiary proceedings to advocate for consumer rights.

Responsibilities
Researching law, legal precedent and other information related to OCC’s consumer advocacy in the government’s regulation of public utilities
Drafting pleadings and portions of legal briefs
Reviewing legislation proposed by members of the Ohio General Assembly
Assisting with discovery, witness preparation, and participation in evidentiary proceedings at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio
Qualification
Required
Applicants must have completed their first year in an accredited law school
Excellence in communications, including writing, is expected
A knowledge of online research (Lexis) is expected
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, Outlook) is expected
Knowledge of other technology used in legal research is expected
