Senior Structures Technician, Second Shift

Relativity Space is building rockets to meet the growing demand for launch capacity and advance science and exploration. The Senior Structures Technician will be responsible for executing drilling, fastening, and bonding operations, while collaborating with engineers to optimize the manufacturing process of the Terran R vehicle.

Responsibilities

Follow work instructions to successfully complete drilling, fastening, and bonding operations, demonstrating attention to detail
Demonstrate a good understanding of drilling equipment, tool fixturing and proper steps to take while performing an operation
Modify, repair, assemble, and install flight hardware and components, potentially in confined spaces and at heights
Demonstrate a good understanding of various fastener applications and show ability to perform installations
Maintain an organized work area and follow 5S guidelines, prioritizing quality in a dynamic, fast-paced, work environment
Keep safety a #1 priority by wearing appropriate PPE and using the correct tools for each specific job

Required

5+ years of aerospace structural experience or related field
Experience training junior technicians
Ability to set up and operate a wide range of hand tools and measuring devices
Ability to follow work instructions and interpret engineering drawings
Drilling proficiency and ability to hit tight tolerances holes
Ability to drill in complex areas and on various contours and materials

Strong understanding of aerospace materials, such as aluminum alloys, titanium, carbon-fiber composites, epoxies, adhesives, and their respective properties and applications
Strong understanding of GD&T
