Door Systems Supervisor - Auxiliary

Responsibilities
Supervises the Access Control staff and the lead locksmith
Provides appropriate training and information to staff as needed
Plans work activities and assignment of tasks
Participates in keying of buildings
Develops long range plans for the UNT Denton Campus
Assists other UNT campuses as directed
Maintains records, keeps yearly inventory, and reviews work orders
Reads blueprints, plans, and sketches
Provides appropriate tools and equipment for staff
Develops and installs master key systems
Works on broken and inoperative locks, door closers and doors
Evaluate and recommend appropriate electronic access systems
Observes proper safety and security measures appropriate to work performed
May be required to work specific weekend events a few times a year
This position is considered to be essential personnel, and may require working overtime, which could include nights and weekends as needed
Reviews current work management data daily and assigns jobs to technicians as needed according to the urgency of the request
Collaborates with manager to ensure that customer needs are met by providing feedback/reports when requested
Ensures that all vehicles are physically inspected and are ready for department use. Creates a schedule of preventive maintenance for vehicles
Coordinates work with mechanical, electrical and internal crafts and vendors, obtains supplies necessary to completed task, check and approve work as needed
Reviews, interviews and selects new candidates for open positions and completes and forwards all necessary hiring paperwork
Consistently completes expected duties in a timely manner without constant supervision. Accepts responsibility for own work and follows through on commitments

Qualification
Required
High school diploma/GED equivalent and five years of experience in related maintenance/repair field
Thorough knowledge of methods, practices, tools, materials and supplies used in cleaning, maintaining, repairing and servicing equipment and of the operating principles of related mechanical assemblies
Ability to adapt available tools and repair parts to specific repair problems
Skill in locating and adjusting defects in equipment
Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used in maintenance and repair
Ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of subordinates
Preferred
Possession of a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment; ability to drive a vehicle and maintain coverage under University liability insurance policy, if required to drive University vehicles
