Responsibilities
This position will involve contributing to and leading in a team environment on the design, analysis, fabrication, prototyping, and flight testing of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and launch systems
Individually perform, and coach others in all aspects of mechanical design
Component and assembly-level design and prototyping
System and sub-system design, modeling, and prototyping
Production drawings applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Review and approve designs, analyses, and engineering drawings
Qualification
Required
Minimum B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
8+ years relevant industry experience
Experience performing in multiple aspects of the following: 3D CAD design, solid and surface modeling
Machine design fundamentals
Structural analysis utilizing hand calculations and finite element models
GD&T per ASME standards
Tolerance analysis
Design for manufacturing and assembly
Product Lifecycle Management and requirements Verification and Validation
Establishing and leveraging relationships with production and procurement teams
Eligible for DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred
Defense, national security, or aerospace domain familiarity through industry or education
Experience leading projects from development through manufacturing and sustainment
Relevant experience in design or analysis of aerospace structures or subsystems
Experience leading engineering product teams
