Responsibilities
Follows any medical regime developed for the patient by the nursing department
Leading the patients in group fitness activity programs while providing direction, guidance, and encouragement as appropriate
Follows any medical regime developed for the patient
Carries out the daily activities for the patients as needed
Develops a therapeutic relationship with patients
Coordinates with staff Recreational Therapist regarding therapeutic activities
Plans appropriate activities for assigned group
Ensures that patient activities are designed to meet the needs and interests of each patient
Demonstrating an ability to assess patients' emotional, physical, and mental capabilities and limitations when planning the group fitness class
Ensuring patient group size is held to a therapeutic level
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent
Two years in the healthcare field with one year in an activities-related field
Must obtain current tuberculosis test within the first fourteen (14) days of employment and annually after that
Maintain current certification in good standing during employment with this facility, or obtain within thirty (30) days of hire
Preferred
Certified Professional Trainer Preferred
Certified in AHA BLS/CPR
