Human Resources Business Partner

Arconic is a leading provider of aluminum products, and they are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to support their Davenport, Iowa plant. The HRBP will focus on improving employee engagement, staffing, and providing HR support while ensuring compliance with labor relations and corporate policies.

Responsibilities

Partnering with local operations leadership to remove obstacles to achieving the plant’s annual business plan
Improving employee engagement and retention, staffing (posting, interviewing, selecting), compensation, performance coaching, investigations, and other day-to-day needs
Providing one-stop HR support for the plants, to include labor relations
Responsible for leadership of HR functions (examples: staffing, labor relations, on-boarding, investigations, etc)
Providing timely counsel / communication to employees and managers, as well as be responsible for various people metrics
Working with locations to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll (via Work Brain)
Completing internal audits (Arconic Self-Assessment Tasks) accurately and in a timely manner
Ensuring all mandated corporate training is completed; provide training where needed
Taking action to ensure that all employment practices under his/her control, including hiring, promotions, demotions, and discipline are conducted in compliance with applicable collective bargaining agreements, equal employment opportunity laws, and Arconic policy and values
Staying current with local, state, and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes governing equal employment opportunity practices
Performing special HR projects or other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of five years' Human Resources responsibilities
Experience with unionized workforce
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to coach managers and employees in difficult situations
Understanding of HR systems and duties
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
Results-oriented
Demonstrated confidentiality
Effective listening skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to remain objective
Excellent working knowledge of his/her respective areas
Resourceful
Quick thinking, ability to respond fast

Experience with organizational design and development
