Responsibilities
Collaborate with Supply Chain, R&D, and Operations to maintain accurate raw material costs and ensure proper quantities in Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Adjust costs and quantities in response to supplier or R&D changes, monitoring their impact on inventory and cost roll-ups
Ensure BOMs and Bills of Operations accurately reflect labor, machine hours, and overhead costs, updating as processes evolve
Work with Operations and Sales to set manufacturing quantities (EOQ) and establish standard costs for components and finished goods
Develop and use variance analysis tools to identify, investigate, and reduce cost variances between standard and actual costs, including root cause analysis
Collaborate with Supply Chain to review purchase price variances and adjust raw material standards accordingly
Perform transaction-level analysis within the ERP system to identify and correct discrepancies in WIP balances or financial statements
Analyze gross margin data to identify outliers and potential system or transaction issues
Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory processes
Support special projects, cost analysis, and back-up accounting duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5-7 years of experience in manufacturing or costing, with strong inventory valuation knowledge
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
Demonstrated analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work cross-functionally
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence all levels of the organization
Preferred
Experience working in complex product environments
Knowledge of variance analysis, transactional ERP workflows, and physical inventory processes
