Responsibilities
Investigate electrical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings. Determine causes of electrical system failures and assess design/construction quality or maintenance procedures
Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi-party examinations. Collaborate on large, complex projects within multi-disciplinary teams
Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations; Prepare reports and letters detailing the cause of damage for clients
Provide deposition and expert testimony in product liability for civil, federal, and occasional criminal court cases to testify about damages and professional liability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent discipline required
5+ years' experience in electrical engineering field
PE in state of employment or the ability to obtain one within 12 months
Willingness to travel to clients' sites (25-30%); ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions
Preferred
Familiarity with forensic investigation practices and principles is a plus
5 years' experience evaluating electrical failures in a commercial or industrial setting preferred
Power systems experience (generators, transformers, switchgear, etc.) is a plus; Electro-mechanical experience is desirable
Experienced working with lawyers, insurance companies, and adjusters preferred
