Investment Associate

GridStor is a rapidly growing energy storage developer backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, focused on accelerating the transition to a carbon-free grid. The Investment Associate/Sr. Analyst will work closely with senior team members to source and evaluate investments in energy storage assets, playing a key role in the full deal lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Own and maintain financial model for investment opportunities and project financings, ensuring consistency and accuracy of results reflecting financial performance, including debt service and projected returns
Implement improvements to the financial model on an ongoing basis in line with changing capital markets
Develop quantitative and qualitative analysis to support investment decisions and new market opportunities
Prepare presentations and investment memoranda for the Investment Committee
Assist with the due diligence process and third-party consultant reports preparation during financings
Support deal execution and take an active role in monitoring of portfolio of development and operating assets
Work with existing financing parties to ensure accurate tracking of the projects’ financial performance

Required

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, finance, or a related field required
A minimum of 3 years of prior work experience in project finance, investment banking or buy-side role, within the financial services or the energy industry
Strong analytics and financial modeling skills including DCF analysis and direct experience with project finance modeling
Exceptional organizational abilities with keen attention to detail
Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and seeing delegated projects through to completion
Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to be agile and flexible, readily taking on tasks outside the typical scope of the role as needed
Proven ability to handle highly confidential information with utmost discretion
Strong track record of excellent judgment and integrity in previous roles
Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, TEAMS, and advanced skills in Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Adaptable, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and approach challenges with a creative, proactive mindset
Highly motivated to support and collaborate with team members, contributing to collective success

Preferred

Understanding of project finance debt and tax equity structures a plus
Location & Availability: Portland, OR preferred, willing to consider other locations
