Responsibilities
Operate the following equipment at a minimum: bolter, drill, blasting rig, scalers, manlift, telehandler, Loaders, haul trucks, shotcrete pumps, water truck
Operating a face drill and/or roof bolter in an underground hard rock mine
Operating a wheel loader in a confined space to muck headings and load haul trucks
Running a scaler or an excavator with scaler attachment to scale rock from mine walls
Work with explosives and the blasting process to facilitate production
Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment
Qualification
Required
Uncompromising focus on safety excellence
Willing to work in an underground mining environment
Willing to work with explosives and the blasting process
Able to operate underground mining equipment with precision and excellence in a confined space
Ability to pick up on new tasks quickly
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary
Must be able to work underground and outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises
Self-motivated - able to work without requiring close supervision
Must pass pre-employment drug-screening
Preferred
At least one-year of proficient experience operating underground mining equipment – such as a face drill, scaler, roof bolter, or loader – is preferred
Valid TN Explosive Handlers Card or Blasting Permit – or ability to obtain/renew those permits
Shotcrete application
