Responsibilities
Build, deploy, and maintain applications and systems that bring advanced AI-driven security capabilities to real users
Work directly with internal and external customers to deeply understand their workflows and translate them into intuitive, powerful product experiences
Design and implement backend services, agentic workflows, API integrations, and user-facing features
Integrate cutting-edge AI technologies (including OpenAI’s latest models) into real-world security scenarios
Troubleshoot complex systems, improve performance and reliability, and uphold strong engineering and security standards
Collaborate across OpenAI’s product, research, engineering, and security organizations to maximize impact
Help shape the engineering culture, architecture, and processes of a new business unit with a critical mission
Stay informed about emerging AI technologies and security threats to help guide our technical direction
Qualification
Required
5+ years of relevant engineering experience at technology and product-driven companies
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and modern web technologies
Experience in backend programming using Python, Go, or similar languages
Familiarity with public cloud environments (Azure or AWS) and infrastructure tooling (Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.)
Interest in security-related practices, such as secure coding, threat modeling, or detection systems (direct experience not required)
Interest in AI/ML (direct experience not required)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where problems may be ambiguous, emerging, or rapidly evolving
