Fire Alarm Designer
Allied Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Alarm Designer to join their team. The role involves coordinating onsite surveys, preparing fire alarm drawings, and overseeing project designs from inception to completion, while ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.

Responsibilities
Coordinate onsite surveys with operations team
Prepare fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD based on both site surveys and architectural prints
Calculate, design and coordinate a project from beginning to end
Submit drawings and track the review processes with multiple AHJ’s
Coordinate technical documents with other disciplines/contractors
Modify and/or create processes to ensure consistent production and document control
Assist superintendents and field personnel on system and code applications
Assist sales department with system configuration, take-offs, specification review and code applications for estimating projects
Maintain project drawing files and records
Participate in design turnover and bid review meetings
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Fire Alarm system design and Auto CAD
Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC
Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environment
Strong customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred
APS State of TX or NICET III
